Imphal: In a solicitous initiative, Tamenglong Battalion of Assam Rifles conducted a Medical camp at Machenglong village on Sunday on the occasion of World Heart Day in Tamenglong district of Manipur.
Machenglong is located in a very remote area and is devoid of the most basic medical facilities. The camp was conducted as an empathetic gesture, to address the health issues of the locals residing in the area.
More than 300 people were benefitted by the conduct of the camp which entailed general health checkup and medical examination by medical staff of Assam Rifles. Medicines were also distributed and administered as per requirement of the patients, the Assam Rifles said.
The medical camp was a successful initiative and provided medicare accessibility to the locals residing in and around Machenglong village. This initiative by Assam Rifles was widely appreciated and the locals lauded the efforts of Assam Rifles for their thoughtful gesture, it added.
