Imphal: A ten-member cultural troupe of the Rhythms of Manipur will perform at Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center inside the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai in connection with the firstever World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) being hosted by the Ministry of Information and Boardcasting.
The summit will begin on May 1 amd conclude on May 4. It, being attended by various World leaders, industries heavyweights, creators, tech innovators, will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Nodi on May 1 at Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center.
The Rhythms of Manipur troupe, sponsored by the North East Zone Cultural Center, Dimapur, Ministry of Culture will showcase the instrumental performance including the popular Langden drumming by four ladies drummers supported by six other musicians for three days from May 1 to 3.
The Rhythms of Manipur troupe is leaving Imphal for Mumbai on April 27 morning. Rajkumar Sanatomba Singh, founding artistes and secretary of the group will be the troupe leader.
The present tour is the third tour of the group to Munbai. Rhythms of Manipur had performed at Church Gate and Yas Raj Studio in 2022 and 2023 respectively, the cultural body said.
