Imphal: The ad hoc committee of the five constituent colleges of Dhanamanjuri University (DMU) has decided to immediately initiate action against the letter of directorate of University and Higher Education Manipur to principals of government colleges.
The letter advised the college principals to furnish the number of teachers who would like to opt for absorption to Dhanamanjuri University, which requires a preliminary survey on the possible number of teachers of government colleges, according to the committee.
A statement released by the committee on Wednesday said an emergency meeting of the ad hoc committee, a conglomerate of the teachers’ bodies of the five constituent colleges of DMU, was held at D M College of Arts, on wednesday.
The meeting discussed the letter of the directorate of university and higher education, Manipur to the principals of all government colleges of Manipur on September 21 which comes in the background of the long standing demands of the ad hoc committee.
The committee has been demanding absorption of the existing teachers (including the principals and the regular utilised teachers) of the five constituent colleges of DMU before any process for fresh recruitment of faculties for the university is conducted.
The committee demanded that the absorption of the existing teachers be settled relatively ahead of that of the teachers from other colleges under Directorate of University and Higher Education in case (if any) such an opportunity is extended to them, the release said.
