Imphal: With the confirmation of three positive cases of COVID-19 on Friday, the active cases in Manipur have risen to five.
The Directorate of Health Services reported that on Friday 15 samples were tested; 1 from Imphal East, 13 from Imphal West, and 1 from Tamenglong. Three were tested positive — one from Imphal East and two from Imphal West.
So far 36 samples have tested in the state.
According to the official data, four individuals who tested positive were currently in home isolation.
The reappearance of Covid-19 in the state was detected on June 1.
The pandemic reached Manipur in 2020. Manipur had recorded a total of 1,40,045 Covid cases. Of these, 1,37,893 patients had recovered, while 2,149 individuals have succumbed to the viral infection.
Health Services director Dr. Chambo Gonmei, told reporters that no new guidelines have been issued by the central health ministry so far. He advised the public to wear face masks, maintain personal hygiene by washing hands regularly with soap, and undergo testing if they experience high fever or any symptoms related to Covid.
