Imphal: Former Indian Forest Service officer SS Chhabra has been appointed as the new chairman of the Manipur Public Service Commission, said a government order issued on Tuesday
.The order, signed by chief secretary PK Singh, stated that under Article 316 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Manipur has appointed Chhabra as chairman of the MPSC for a term of six years from the date he assumes office or until he attains the age of 62, whichever comes earlier.
The appointment order was issued by the department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (Personnel Division).
It said his pay and allowances and other conditions of service will be governed by the Manipur Public Service Commission Regulations, 1972, as amended from time to time.
