Don’t drag my name in drug business: Mumtaj, involved in past drug smuggling

Imphal: Mumtaj alias Ibem who was involved in drug smuggling in the past said, “Don’t take advantage of my name by others while smuggling drugs.”

Mumtaj wife of late Jagat of Golapi Mayai Leikai told reporters, on Sunday in a place of Imphal East district, that after having a meeting with the insurgent group (Don’t want to disclose the organisation), who are focusing on cleansing drugs from the society, she had left the drug smuggling business for the last few years back.

She said some drug smugglers are using her name and continue the drug smuggling business that misleads her in the society.

She appealed to those who are misusing her name not to drag her in the drug smuggling business.

Mumtaj said any punishment given by the insurgents of Manipur will be accepted if she is found involved in drug business in future.
