Three more teachers arrested for leaking question paper

Imphal: Following the arrest of two accused persons, for leaking the Physics question paper for Class XII COHSEM Examination, on Wednesday, police have arrested three more accused persons who were directly involved in conspiring and leaking the question paper.

The trio were identified as Khangembam Arundas Singh, 60, son of (L) Kh. Birachandra Singh of Thoubal Kshetri Leikai, Thoubal district— who is serving as Assistant Professor at YK College teaching Economics and supervisory officer of Paradise English School, Thoubal Exam Centre; Laishram Prabin Singh, 31, son of L. Jadumani Singh of Yaripok Tulihal Laishram Leikai, Imphal East district — who is serving as a Biology teacher at Paradise English School, Thoubal; apam Shivdutta Singh, 35, son of S. Manibabu Singh of Khongjom Bazar, Thoubal district — who is serving as a Biology teacher at Paradise English School, Thoubal and officer-In- harge (OC) of Paradise English School, Thoubal Exam Centre. “They were the main source of leaking the question paper,” said police.

The two teachers who were arrested earlier were Maibam Sunil Singh, 33, and Ningombam Jagdish Singh, 33.

Incriminating items including mobile phones were seized from the arrested accused persons. Investigation of the case is in full swing and will continue to examine more evidences and witnesses to identify all responsible persons and establish the true facts surrounding the case, said police on Thursday.
