Manipur government to connect Imphal with Churachandpur on surface, air

Imphal: Manipur government on Friday announced to start providing bus connectivity with Imphal and Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, Bishnupur and Senapati districts on Saturday.

It reiterated to operate Helicopter services connecting Imphal with Churachandpur and Ukhrul.

Manipur government has arranged bus service by Manipur State Transport Buses under CAPF escort on the routes of Imphal-Kangpokpi-Senapati, Senapati-Kangpokpi-Imphal, Imphal-Bishnupur-Churachandpur and Churachandpur-Bishnupur-Imphal, said a statement released by the chief secretary Prashant Kumar Singh on Friday.

The arrangement was made to alleviate public inconveniences as an initiative towards bringing normalcy in the state starting from Saturday.

The connectivity will be made available from Imphal Airpor, said state Transport department.

For Helicopter services, connectivity between Imphal and Churachandpur will be available on Wednesday and Saturday starting on Saturday. The air connectivity between Imphal and Ukhrul will be made available on Saturdays.

“In case anyone is found involved in any act disturbing the movement of the MST Buses, he/she shall be prosecuted under relevant laws,” the chief secretary said.
