Imphal: Officers of Anti-Smuggling Unit of Customs Division, Imphal, recovered Brown Sugar (Heroin) worth Rs 2.35 crore from a smuggler at Mantripukhri, here, on Saturday.
The contraband drug was found contained in 40 plastic. It weighed 471.52 grams.
It was recovered from one person who was trying to board a Dimapur bound public transport vehicle from Mantripukhri, Imphal East.
The suspected narcotic drugs have been seized and the carrier was arrested under the NDPS Act, 1985.
The value of the seized contraband drug is estimated to be Rs. 2.35 crore. Investigation is underway, said Ksh. Sunjay Singh, superintendent (A/S), Customs Division, Imphal.
