Abductee rescued, abductor arrested

Imphal: Security forces rescued an abducted person at Waithou along National Highway 2 and arrested the abductor with weapons, on Saturday evening.

The rescued abducted person person was Md. Amir, 24, son of Md. Habibur Rahaman of Lilong Chingjao. He had been abducted from Waithou area itself.

The abductor was Md. Sharif Khan alias Masten (active member of Ningol Macha group), 28, son of Md. Abdul Gaffar of Phouden Maning Leikai.

One 9 mm pistol (countrymade) with seven rounds of ammunition seized was seized from his possession, along with one honda activa vehicle, a police report said.

A regular FIR has been registered at Lilong Police station for further investigation, it added.
