Imphal: Paamel Foundation, a Babina Group Initiative, has extended financial supports to 109 families affected by the recent hailstorm in Manipur, on Saturday.

The financial assistance was provided to 109 staff of Babina Group Initiative during a programme held at the conference hall of Babina Diagnostic located at Porompat, Imphal East.

In the hailstorm occurred on May 5, many houses, farms and other properties were damaged. Manipur government reported that a total of 15,425 houses were damaged.

The government also sanctioned a sum of Rs 6.90 crores under state disaster relief fund.

The financial assistance was provided to 109 staff as a part of the ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities.

Chairman of Babina Group of Hotel and founder-president of Paamel Foundation, Dr Thangjam Dhabali Singh said the function is not a celebration but a small gesture of empathy from the company towards the staff who were affected by the recent hailstorm with the hope to bring a little sigh of relief to disaster affected people.

Rhe beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the support during the time of need. Each of the 109 beneficiaries were given financial assistance of Rs 5,000.
