Koireng led UNLF shot ‘madam’ on calf as warning

Imphal: Koireng led UNLF, acting against ‘pimp’ and ‘madam’ considering them as anti-social elements, apprehended two madams and produced in front media on Saturday late evening at Bishnupur district.

The outfit apprehended the two madam after one ‘pimp’ was apprehended by village volunteer of Kadangband and produced in front of media through Nupi Samaj on Thursday.

Spokesperson of Koireng led UNLF, Pibarel Angomcha told reporters that the outfit is one of the oldest underground outfit and has been working to bring a good society. He announced that the outfit will started taking necessary action against sex rackets that would doom the society.

Sex rackets business will become one of the most dangerous thing in Manipur that could destroy the unique history of Manipur which is 2,000-3,000 years old. Even this will bring a huge impact to the women of Manipur who are taking a major role in shaping the society, he added.

He said the outfit found some leads of involvement of some bureaucrats in the business.

Nupi Samaj on Thursday claimed that there is involvement of some ministers and bureaucrats as per disclosure from the ‘pimp’ apprehended by the village volunteers.

Pibarel said the two madams are identified as one Moirangthem Bebe, 40, wife of late M. Bishorjit Singh presently staying at her maternal home located at Singjamei Chingamakha, Imphal West and other is identified as Chinnei, 24, of Tousem, Tamenglong district.

He said the outfit will hand over Chinnei who belonged to Tangkhul community to a Naga CSO while Bebe will be given appropriate punishment by the outfit as warning and release.

Bebe disclosed in front of media that she has been doing this business from the past 5-6 years. During the period she confessed that she had dragged many women and girls in the business to serve as prostitutes for her vested benefit.

She disclosed that she got involved in the sex racket business after she was introduced by another woman from Nagamapal Singjubung Leirak, Imphal West, adding that one of a former MLA is her main customer.

Bebe said women and girls from various communities including Kuki are involved in which many of them are serving as prostitutes in Guwahati, Delhi and various places of Manipur.

She disclosed that presently she is providing prostitutes to the customers in hotels located at North AOC and Khuman Lampak area in Imphal.

Bebe assured that she will discontinue from being a madam and will continue her life in mainstream for a good cause.

Chinnei said she got involved in the sex racket business about a month ago just after she returned to Manipur. She confessed and assured that she will discontinue the business immediately.

Police reported that on Saturday at around 8 pm, Bebe was found at Utlou, Bishnupur district near fire service station along Phadibi road with a bullet injury on her left calf. After she was given first aid at Nambol community health centre, she was later referred to RIMS for further necessary treatment.
