Imphal: Khwairamband Bazar Shop Owners community has called 24-hour total shutdown in Khwairamband Bazar area decrying various problems occurring in the bazar area.
The total shut down will be effective from Monday midnight and till Tuesday midnight.
Bazar Shop Owners community members in a press note said due to the various problems being faced in the bazar area, the vending community including all the small and big shop owners have unanimously taken the decision to shut down the market.
Recently, incidents were occurred in which residents of Thangal Bazar were physically assaulted by some assailants during the night time.
The assailants who were involved during the crime were later arrested by state police.
MLA Khumukcham Joykisan also appealed not to repeat similar incident and any individual or group found harassing the residents of the bazar area will be taken necessary legal action.
