Imphal: Manipur Police has arrested commander-in-chief of UTLA/KNO (Seipu gtoup), a Kuki outfit, with Brown Sugar from a playground at Phaiton village in Tamenglong district, on Monday.
The militant was identified as Lamtinsei Singson, 50, alias Seipu Ishael son of Letkhosieh Singson of Chiengkwnpang, Churachandpur.
He was nabbed by a team of security forces when it came across a white coloured Bolero bearing registration number MN03P1934 near community hall playground of Phaitol village.
On verification of the driver, he was identified as Lamtinsei Singson and revealed that he is the commander-in-chief of UTLA/KNO (Seipu group) presently in SoO (Suspension of Operation) camp of Chongkhujou in Henglep of Churachandpur district.
On checking of the vehicle, 10 soap cases containing brown sugar weighing around 124 grams in total was found. The person with the vehicle along with the recovered items was handed over to Jiribam police station for further legal action, Manipur Police Control Room said on Tuesday.
