Imphal: Binod Kumar Singh, IPS, ADG, CRPF North East Zone accompanied by Akhilesh, IG, CRPF after taking over charge of North East zone called on governor of Manipur Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan on Monday and apprised of the present prevailing situation of law and order in the state.
The governor lauds the cooperation and security measures taken up by the CRPF since the beginning of the ethnic clash in May 3 for assisting in civil administration for maintaining law and order and advised them to continue their duties for bringing peace and normalcy in the state.
Delegation of Manipur Citizen Forum, Manipur A. Brijkumar Sharma, Kh Rajen Singh, T. Dara Singh and Babita Devi also met the governor.
The team requested and handed over a memorandum to be submitted to the President of India through governor for immediate intervention to end the ongoing ethnic clash in Manipur.
They lauded the efforts of the governor for paying visit to relief camps from time to time and very recently sharing the pain, grief of affected families by visiting their homes.
The governor appreciated their efforts towards bringing peace and normalcy in the state and urged them to tie up with the government machinery to initiate the peace process. She also informed the continuous efforts of the state and central government to end the ongoing strife at the earliest.
