NESO urges Anusuiya for special initiative to protect Manipur students academic career

Imphal:   A student delegation of North East Students’ Organisation (NESO) asked Manipur governor Anusuiya Uikey for a special initiative to protect the academic career of the students in Manipur and other NE states. 

The students delegation led by its chief advisor, Dr. Samujjal Bhattacharya called on tge governor Uikey at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday evening and apprised the prevailing situation of Manipur. 

The student body comprising of student organizations of seven North Eastern states expressed their concerns over the prevailing situation which affects students even from other NE states. 

They submitted a memorandum to the governor and urged to take all steps to restore peace in Manipur. 

The governor assured them that efforts are on to restore peace and harmony in the state. She said, hatred and mistrust among the communities has to be removed and therefore student bodies could play a major role in imparting the sense of brotherhood among the youths of different communities in the state.

She informed them that she will raise their concerns even to the Prime Minister and steps to protect the academic career of the students will surely be taken up. She appealed them to share their cooperation in the efforts to restore peace and harmony in the state so that all can live with harmony and brotherhood.
