Imphal: Commanding officer of 7th Manipur Rifles, Watham Basu inspected its personnel deployed at Kadangband and Koutruk area, located between Imphal West and Kangpokpi districts on Wednesday.
Since the eruption of the present crisis in Manipur, combined security forces including Manipur have been deployed in various vulnerable areas of the state.
Kadangband and Koutruk areas were among the vulnerable spot where gunfights occurred frequently between combined forces and Kuki militants.
To protect the villagers and avoid unwanted incidents personnel of 7th Manipur Rifles are deployed at vulnerable areas. The combined forces have been safeguarding the villagers from the attack of Kuki militants on various gunfights.
Officer Basu also interacted with the villagers and consoled them not to be panic as his personnel are deployed in the area for the safeguard of the villagers.
Basu interacted the personnel on their health issues and others and instructed them to perform their duty properly.
He said personnel of 7th MR have been securing the government offices, villages and villagers from unwanted incidents.
