Imphal: A combined team of New Keithelmanbi police station and Patsoi police station along with Teams of 33 Assam Rifles on Tuesday seized 9 guns suspected to belong to Kuki militants during an operation in and around Keithelmanbi and Aithu Kuki Village, Kangpokpi district.
The seizure was made amid the ongoing Kuki-Meitei conflict in Manipur.
The recovered items were five Single Bore Rifles, four country made weapons (modified GI pipe), 36 Single Bore live rounds, one Walkie Talkie set along with charger and eight mobile phones.
No arrest can be made as they had escaped before arrival of the teams. All the seized items were handed over to New Keithelmanbi Police station for further necessary legal action, a police report said.
