95 percent substructure work of world highest Pier Bridge in Manipur completed

Imphal: About 95 per cent of the substructure work of world highest Pier Bridge constructed at Noney district in Manipur, India has been completed.

According to officials, the target of completion of the bridge is August 31 this year.

Under the initiatives of central government the Jiribam-Imphal new line railway project connecting North East region is at the stage of completion. 

The government has plans for the Railway to connect Indo-Myanmar border town Moreh passing Imphal city.

As a part of the railway line construction the work ‘The substructure of Br. No. 164’ was awarded to Bharatia Infra Projects Limited on August 15, 2021. The bridge is constructed at Noney, Manipur. It is the world highest Pier bridge. The height of the pier is 139m.
