Imphal: Kuki militants reportedly failed to loot fertilizers from a warehouse at Torbung Bangla as firing took placed between combined security forces and Kuki militants on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.
The Kuki militants reportedly came at Torbung Bangla by taking the advantage of night and tried to loot the warehouse.
On seeing the security forces the Kuki militants reportedly fired towards the security forces, on retaliation of the security forces there might have caused some injury to the Kuki militants. Firing reportedly continued for nearly an hour and one CRPF jawan received minor bullet injury on his feet.
The Kuki militants arsoned 4/5 abandon Meitei houses at Torbung.
It is reported that earlier last night, one NV-UAV was detected loitering around Torbung, Phougakchao Ikhai and Kwakta area. Local villagers tried to shoot at the NV UAV, but it escaped and drove towards the western hill side, sfter which gun shots were heard at Torbung area.
At the same timing, another firing incident occured at Khoijumantabi side Mangjil hill top towards the valley area where BSF personnel were deployed. The firing lasted around half an hour stopped. No casualty has been reported.
