Covid-19 takes 10 lives, infects 730, recovers 403

Imphal: Manipur on Saturday reports 10 Covid-19 related death cases, 730 new positive cases while 403 were recovered in 24 hours.

The death cases belonged to Imphal West (6), Imphal East (2), Churachandpur (1) and Kakching (1).

The positive cases belonged to Imphal East (208), Imphal West (268), Thoubal (53), Bishnupur (38), Kakching (58), Ukhrul (8), Churachandpur (28), Chandel (5), Senapati (2), Tamenglong (39), Kangpokpi (15) and Jiribam (8).

They were confirmed positive in 3431 test reports.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the state Covid-19 common control room said.

It said 403 Covid-19 patients were discharged from CAPF (4), Home Isolation (319), RIMS (2), JNIMS (1), RD Wing (7), BB (18), NSU (12), RAJMED (10), SHRI (11), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (6), Tamenglong (3) and Ukhrul (8).

The cumulative number of deaths is 562; cumulative number of positive cases is 39,052; the number of active cases is 6215; and the recovery rate is 82.64 percent, the control room said.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 1393 D-type oxygen cylinders and 474 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur.

As per the latest information 302287 persons have been vaccinated.

Two air passengers were tested positive at Imphal airport on Saturday.

Air passengers who travelled to the state on May 14 by Air India AI-525 in rows 10-16 and 18-24, on May 6 by 6E-524 in rows 17-23 are to inform the Common Covid Control Room 1800-345-3818 or respective district surveillance officers for further surveillance and necessary testing, the control room said.
