Imphal: Manipur government has not yet announced opening of flood relief camps in Manipur while almost all parts of the state have been affected by flood and mud slides in the state.
Flooded affected people appeal to open relief camps.
A residence of Laipham Khunou, Imphal East, Ahanthem Roshan said his family was evacuated on Wednesday. The government need to arrange relief camp.
The state government had announced to provide necessary assistance for the flood affected families.
Government Anusuiya Uikey on Wednesday said the state government is committed to taking all necessary measures to prevent the situation from worsening and to extend all possible assistance to those affected.
“I am deeply concerned and saddened by the damage to homes and properties in both the Valley and Hills Districts,” she wrote on X.
“As we work through the aftermath of Cyclone Remal, I appreciate the dedication of those who have stepped up to tackle these immediate challenges,” chief minister N. Biren Singh posted on Facebook
“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Manipur police, MR, IRB, Fire Service, SDRF, local clubs, CSOs, VDF, and the youths for their extraordinary courage and efficiency.”
Imphal city areas and low lying areas of the state have been submerged in flood. Rainfall is expected to continue in state which has been under thick clouds.
Spilt of Imphal River water has Imphal city and Imphal West district areas. Khwairamband Ima market, one of the oldest market exclusively for women vendors has been flooded, both Thangal road and Paona road has also flooded.
The incessant rainfall in Manipur due to the effect of cyclone Remal many places of Imphal West, Imphal East, Kangpokpi, Senapati, Bishnupur districts of Manipur have been inundated.
The state government appeals the general public to stay inside their respective homes and not to move out except for emergency.
