Ministry of Home Affairs instructs states to conduct mock drills for effective civil defence on May 7

Imphal: Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, has asked states to conduct mock drills for effective civil defence on May 7 as India-Pakistan tensions rose following Pahalgam terror attack.

The Home ministry tells states to take up several measures including operationalisation of Air Raid Warning Sirens.

It ordered states to train civilians, students, etc, on the civil defence aspects to protect themselves in the event of a hostile attack.

The ministry advised state governments to initiate provision of crash black out measures, provion for early camouflaging of vital plants and installations.

It ordered states to update evacuation plan and its rehearsal.
