Imphal: Minister of State for Minority Affairs, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, George Kurian on Friday visited Senapati and along with deputy vommissioner, Senapati Mamoni Doley, and several key figure of the district inspected various Institutions and project sites in the district.

During the MoS visit, he inspected Model Residential School at Taphou Naga, District Hospital, Senapati, Astro Turf, Senapati,Multi-Purpose Paking Lot, Village Chief Association Building and Model Anganwadi Centre at Rikhumai Taphou. He also interacted with the village chiefs.

Later, the MoS chaired a review meeting with the districts level officers on the implementation of central flagship programmes and policies and also review progress report of various departments at DC Conference Hall, Senapati. Several key issues were also discussed pertaining to the implementation of projects under various central schemes.

In the meeting, the MoS George Kurian expressed PM concerned for developing North- Eastern states of India. He also applauded the District Administration of Senapati for doing well in the overall performances while delivering services to the people. Information and transformation should go together hand in hand, he added.

He also took stock on the implementation of various schemes and projects such as PMJAY, PMMVY, PM JANMAN, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Poshan Abhiyan, AAY, PHH, PM Poshan Scheme, JJM, PMAY-G, and Skill Developments etc. under the departments of Health, ICDS, CAF and PD, Education, Agriculture and others.

He also reviewed various activities taken up by departments like MSPDCL, PWD, PHED, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry and fisheries and other in regards of road connectivity, tap water connection, electricity connection, literacy rate, SHG in the district.

The meeting was attended by DC, Senapati Mamoni Doley, SP Anupam, ADC, Senapati Rang David Kung, DFO, Senapati Shanngam S, IFS,  CEO/ ADC, Senapati Adahrii Maheo, MCS, SDO’s and DLO’s.
