Imphal: Manipur Police department has disposed of 5,197.498 kg of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances worth approximately Rs 687.98 crore in the international market as part of its ongoing “War on Drugs” campaign during 2022-25.

In the presence of chief minister N. Biren Singh, the police destroyed 314.471 kg of narcotic substances valued at around Rs 399.87 crore at the Shija Common Bio-Medical Waste Treatment Facility in Lamdeng, Imphal West, on Saturday.

Cabinet ministers, MLAs, DGP Rajiv Singh, and other officials were also present.

The destroyed narcotic substances included Heroin powder (9.884 kg), Brown sugar (244.409 kg), WY tablets (26.239 kg), SP capsules (661 grams), N-10 tablets (493 grams), Pseudoephedrine tablets (505 grams) and Ganja (32.280 kg).
