Imphal: Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA), department of Horticulture and Soil Conservation, Manipur in collaboration with Sushila Foundation for Agricultural and Rural Development (an NGO) has initiated marketing Organic Kiwi fruit to Patna and Delhi via train from Dimapur on Tuesday.
The Organic Kiwi is produced by the farmers of ‘Jeweled Land Organic Farmer Producer Company Limited’, Senapati, Manipur, under the Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCD- NER).
Speaking to reporters, Donald Soubam, project director of MOMA, said approximately 6 MT of Kiwi will be sent on a weekly basis to major cities like Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Patna, and Lucknow with an aim of sending 30 MT of Organic Kiwi this season to support the farmers during this tough time.
