Imphal: A one-day training program on mushroom cultivation and marketing was successfully held at Khekman Lai Haraopham Community Hall in Khekman village, Thoubal district, on Saturday.
Cuisines of cultivated Mushroom have been the delight of many in Manipur. Cultivated Mushroom is sold at the range of Rs 200 to 240 per Kg at Imphal market.
The training event was sponsored and funded by Nongshaba Eco-Crest (OPC) Private Ltd in collaboration with the District Administration, Thoubal.
This initiative is part of the Village Study Assignment of Arvind Hanglem, IAS 2023, who is currently serving as assistant commissioner, Thoubal, under the guidance of Ahanthem Shubash Singh, deputy commissioner, Thoubal.
Ten beneficiaries were selected based on various criteria, including socio-economic status and skill level. To further support them, raw materials were provided to help them start their mushroom cultivation businesses.
