Imphal: Jiri Apunba Lup (JAL), a Meitei social group has ‘strongly’ condemned the ‘brutal’ attack carried out by Kuki-Zo armed terrorists KNA(B) and its allies on the innocent residents of a Meitei village in Jiribam district, and expressed deepest condolences to the family of CRPF jawan Ajay Kumar Jha, who lost his life during the ‘heinous’ attack by armed ‘KNA(B) terrorists’.

The Kuki Inpi said it vehemently condemns the state-sponsored attack against Sejang and Mongbung villages in Jiribam District. “The armed assault began at about 9:40 am by a combined force of ‘Meitei State Forces, and Valley Based Insurgent Groups including the Arambai Tenggol.”

It said it denounces the deliberate failure of the CRPF to maintain neutrality but collude with the Meitei militants in the attack against the Kuki-Zo villages under the command of Huidrom Premjit, DIG, CRPF, causing the regrettable death of a CRPF jawan.

The condemnations came after the killing of one CRPF jawan and injuring another CRPF jawan and two state police commandos during a gun attack by Kuki militants on Sunday morning.

“On the contrary, they (Kuki bodies) blame Manipur Police Commando, Arambai Tenggol, UNLF and CRPF DIG Premjit Meetei for the attack which is baseless and full of lies. CRPF stays neutral in protecting every citizen of India. They retaliate only when one of their personnel was killed by armed Kuki-Zo terrorists KNA(B),” the Jiribam body said.

The deliberate setting of fire to Ibohanbi’s house by armed Kuki-Zo terrorists KNA(B) and its allies has caused extensive damage, having his family without a home and their belongings destroyed. This malicious act of destruction is deeply deplorable. Several state forces personnel were killed while bravely defending the village by armed Kuki-Zo terrorists KNA(B) and its allies, it added.

“Hundreds of villagers have been compelled to flee their homes in Jiribam due to ongoing oppression by Meitei armed groups, with many now displaced in Relief Camps. At present, there are already over 45,000 Kuki-Zo people who have been displaced from their homes, and the Jiribam Campaign is adding salt to the wounds of the struggles and distress faced by the Kuki-Zo people. In response to these attacks, the Kuki Inpi urgently calls upon the Government of India to ensure the safety and security, as well as lasting peace and stability, for the Kuki-Zo people,” Kuki Inpi said.

The present unrest in Manipur erupted after Kuki-Zo community supported by armed militants launched attack to Meitei villages on May 3. When the Meitei retaliated for safety, the majority community has been blamed.

“After they did all evil acts punishable by law, the Kuki-Inpi, ITLF, COTU and its sister organisations made false allegations, narratives and spread rumours like wildfire blaming Meitei communities in their every fake press note of all the notorious acts done by them. Their fabricated idea of demanding separate administration or Union Territory or whatever name it suits were cast in their every fake press note and communique to please the government which is full of lies and concocted statements,” JAL said.

The Jiribam people’s body asked all the relevant authorities to crack down on the Kuki-Zo narco terrorists by abrogating suspension of operation to maintain peace and security in Manipur.

Chief minister N. Biren Singh says, the present conflict in Manipur is not an ethnic conflict, it’s narco-terrorism and external aggression backed by foreign hands.
