Imphal: Titular king of Manipur, Leishemba Sanajaoba as Rajya Sabha MP, placed demand in the House for a comprehensive rehabilitation package and a long-term solution to ensure peaceful coexistence in Manipur.
The MP made this demand during a ‘Special Mention’ on the Parliamentary floor on Monday.
Leishemba highlighted that the ongoing tension in the state is gradually subsiding, and normalcy is slowly returning, offering hope for a peaceful resolution in the near future.
He expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home minister Amit Shah, and chief minister N. Biren Singh for ‘their steadfastness, foresight, expertise, and tireless’ efforts in moving towards a peaceful solution in the state.
Leishemba urged the Union government to intensify its efforts, suggesting that a timely push could expedite the peace process and resettlement initiatives. He emphasized that the people of Manipur have endured significant suffering and now require immediate relief.
Leishemba demanded that the Union government to provide a suitable rehabilitation package and develop a long-term solution for peaceful coexistence.
He also called for other necessary arrangements deemed fit to restore the peaceful and glorious past of Manipur.
