Bomb found at Imphal Finance MD residence

Imphal: A bomb was found hanging at the residential gate of the managing director of Imphal Finance, a microfinance institution, on Saturday.

The managing director of Imphal Finance is Wairokpam Guneshwor, Singjamei Chingamakha, Tomal Leirak, Imphal West, under the jurisdiction of Singjamei Police station.

The bomb was hung at the main gate of Guneshwor’s residence by two unknown individuals who arrived on a two-wheeler. They further stated that the bomb is an Indian-made hand grenade. A case has been registered at the same police station for further investigation, police said.

Wairokpam Ongbi Usharani, wife of Guneshwor, told reporters that such bomb threats are creating panic to the family. She appealed for such bomb threats not to be repeated against the family.

Potshangbam Ibotombi, branch manager of the private financial institution asked what fault the managing director has committed. He sought clarification on the threat.
