Woods, items worth Rs 2.8 lakh stolen

Imphal: Unknown miscreants have stolen woods and other items from a furniture store worth around Rs 2.8 lakh in the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.

The furniture store “Khuman Furniture” is located at Kwakeithel Konjeng Leikai, Imphal West under the jurisdiction of Singjamei police station.

Proprietor of the furniture store, Heikrujam Somorjit said, when his father H. Gulapi open the store at around 6 am on Thursday, it was found that some unknown miscreants broke in the store and stole some woods and other items.

He said due to the heavy rain on Wednesday his father (Gulapi) lock down the store at around 6 pm. Due to the rainy weather there was no one left inside the store.

The thieves have stolen furniture woods and machines, he claimed.

It is reported that similar incidents were occurred in the nearby automobile workshop some days back.
