Imphal: People of Manipur valley prayed for the victims of Manipur crisis and paid tribute to the souls on Friday as the crisis completed a year.

One of such events was witnessed at Laipham Khunou in Imphal. Members of Laipham Khunou Maning Leikai Meira Paibis and Aurora Club and Library gathered for a candlelight vigil in the evening.

S. Prakash, president of Aurora Club and Library, said the gathering was organised to honor the departed brave heroes of the motherland, who have made the ultimate sacrifice for Manipur..

Emotions ran high as participants lit candles and observed a moment of silence, paying tribute to those who have fallen.

Prakash appealed to both the central and state governments to expedite efforts to bring about a resolution to the conflict. “We have endured a year of immense suffering, and we cannot further bear pain.”

Slogans “Long Live Manipur,” and “We Want Peace,” “were chanted among others, echoing the collective desire for peace.
