Imphal: Shiv Sena Manipur unit president M. Tombi criticized Prof. Angomcha Bimol Akoijam who is contesting in the Lok Sabha election on Congress ticket.
The Congress candidate Bimol has never extended any sort of assistance in the present crisis and how people can expect after he happened to be elected as Lok Sabha MP, Tombi said on the contrary Bimol what Bimol does to end the crisis.
Dr. Bimol serves in Jawaharlal Nehru University as a professor at the Centre for the Study of Social Systems.
Bimol claims that he want to show that an MP can raise issues in the Parliament for the sake of the people.
“How can a Congress MP put up issues of Manipur on the parliamentary floor even when Lok Sabha MP, RK Ranjan of BJP cannot highlight the issues of Manipur in the parliament,” Tombi criticized the professor.
Why should people cast their vote for Congress? People still feel the pain of the atrocities of the then Congress government, Tombi said.
Tombi is also convenor of Manipur Democratic Alliance (MDA).
He said Bimol who has not performed even ‘weaning ceremony’ in electoral politics is challenging the present government. If he wanted to contribute for bringing peace in the present crisis, then he could have done without contesting the election. If there was no crisis in Manipur then he might not contest in the election, he added.
Sections of people criticise RK Ranjan, minister of state for external affairs, for not putting up the burning Manipur issue in the parliament, and question arises if this impotency of the Manipur MP would be the reason for the BJP picking up Education minister Thounaojam Basanta Kumar to contest in this Lok Sabha Elections instead of Ranjan.
