Huge cache of arms, Amos recovered in Imphal

Imphal: Large numbers of arms and ammunitions were recovered from Mantripukhri bazar and its surrounding areas in Imphal East on Tuesday.

The arms and ammunitions were recovered during a cordon and search operation conducted by Imphal East district police.

During the searched operation, many arms and ammunitions were found lying abandoned, concealed inside a bush at the western side of the Mantripukhri Bazar Community Hall, near auto-rickshaw parking, said a police source.

Following the eruption of Meitei-Kuki conflict on May 3, the day Kuki launched mass attack at Meitei villages, security forces have been taking up search operation in Manipur.
