Imphal: Twelve bunkers were destroyed in Jiribam district and recovered arms during a search operation and area domination conducted by security forces on Wednesday.
Six single barrel gun, 108 numbers of 12 Bore cartridges, one 12 Bore empty cartridge, four Walkie Talkie Radio with charger, seven bullet proof jackets (without BP plate), two cartridge belt and two carry bags from Seijang village, Jiribam, Manipur Police Control Room said in a press release.
The release failed to mention to who the bunkers belong.
During the last 24 hours, the situation in the state was under control, it said.
On Tuesday security forces arrested two cadres of proscribed outfit PREPAK (Pro) identified as Naoroibam Joyshangker alias Loyumba alias Khougang, 39, and Thingom Suresh alias Boy, 38, from Lairikyengbam Leikai and Khurai Chaithabi Leirak, Imphal East District.
From their possession, two 9mm pistol with two magazines, one .32 pistol with one magazine, six live ammunition and nine blank cartridges.
On Wednesday the security forces arrested one S/S Sergeant Major of proscribed outift KCP (Noyon) organization identified as Thoudam Nanao Singh alias Chingsanglakpa alias Putra, 43, from Waithou area, Thoubal District. From his possession one .32 pistol along with magazine and six live rounds were recovered.
On the same day the security forces arrested one individual, Nangzading, 27, from Suangdai, Chrachandpur district. From his possession 50 soap cases containing suspected Brown Sugar were recovered, the police press release said.
