Security forces recover arms and ammunition in Churachandpur

Imphal: Acting on specific intelligence of presence of arms and ammunition near Mashem River in general area Phoisanbung village, Churachandpur, district (Manipur), Assam Rifles, BSF and Manipur Police launched a Joint Cordon and Search Operation on Thursday.

A detailed joint search of the general area was conducted, resulting in the recovery of one M-16 Rifle, one 9mm Pistol, four grenades, one Single Barrel Rifle, and one Improvised Long Range Mortar and war like stores, the Assam Rifles said.

The recovered weapons and war like stores have been handed over to Churachandpur Police station for further investigation, it added.
