Imphal: Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh inaugurated a mini sports complex at Akampat SEYO Club ground, Imphal East on Friday.
The sports complex was constructed at the estimated cost of Rs 20 crore.
The chief minister also inaugurated a football field with RCC Gallery at Chajing, Wangoi sub-division, Imphal West under Khelo India scheme. The football field was constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 2.08 crore.
The inauguration programmes were organised by the department of Youth Affairs and Sports.
Manipur has been passing through a rough phase due to the unprecedented conflict. The government has been working hard to bring a solution and for resettlement of affected people. It must continue taking up developmental activities even during the hard times, Biren said.
Biren assured to give priority to the construction of a gallery and boundary wall around the Hockey stadium at the mini sports complex at Akampat.
At Chajing, the chief minister assured that the state government would try to construct a VIP gallery.
Manipur had faced various challenges in different phases. However, a solution comes with time with collective efforts, Biren said. He stressed the need to stand unitedly, maintaining that the government has a firm stand to protect the integrity of Manipur and would firmly stand against those elements trying to distort the state’s integrity.
