Imphal: Security forces have seized reddish powder ‘suspected to be Heroin powder’ from a person during frisking and checking at Kwakta, Bishnupur district in Manipur on Friday.
The person was identified as Md. Toncha, 24, son of Md. Kayamudin of Kwakta ward No. 8.
The powder suspected to be Heroin was detected from the scooter of the person when a team of 16-Kumaon Regiment and a team of PGCI-PS were conducting regular frisking and checking at Kwakta ward no.8 near Qutub wali Masjid along Gothol road.
Kayamudin was coming on a Honda Activa scooter from Pholjang village towards Kwakta bazaar when he was stopped for checking.
“One transparent plastic packet containing 10 soap cases containing reddish powder suspected to be Heroin powder was found inside the toolbox of the scooter,” a police report said.
“He was arrested on the spot after observing all formalities. A case has been registered in this connection,” it added.
