Plea for 3 days protest to remove AR, abrogate SoO with Kuki militants

Imphal: People’s Alliance for Peace and Progress, Manipur (PAPPM) appealed all the people to demonstrate 3 days protest with human chain demanding to abrogate SoO agreement with Kuki militants and to remove ‘double standard’ Assam Rifles from Manipur.

President of PAPPM, Mayanglangbam Bobby Meitei told reporters at its office, here on Sunday that people across the state have been demanding to abrogate SoO with Kuki militants as the Kuki militants are directly involved in the present crisis.

Various complaints are also raised from the public that Assam Rifles are involving in the crisis with a double standard nature. There is a suspicion that Assam Rifles are supporting the Kuki militant in the crisis, he said.

Stating that the SoO agreement with Kuki militant groups and central government is going to be expired on February 28, he appealed all the sections of people to demonstrate sit-in rallies at their respectively localities starting from Monday till Wednesday. Protestors should raise slogans “Abrogate SoO with Kuki Militants” and “Remove Double Standard Assam Rifles”.

He appealed to continue the protest forming human chain by bearing torch on Wednesday night, he added.
