Imphal: One security personnel sustained A bullet injury on his left shoulder during an exchange of fire in the general area of Sugnu of Kakching district and Lailoiphai village/Dongjang village of Churachandpur district, on Saturday.
The personnel was evacuated to Shija Hospital, Imphal for treatment and later discharged, said Manipur Police Control Room on Saturday.
During the last 24 hours, the situation in the state was tense with sporadic incidents of firing but under control, it added.
Search operations and area domination were conducted by security forces in the fringe and vulnerable areas of hill and valley districts. During the operation one 81 mm Improvised Mortar, one Single Barrel Rifle, one 36 HE Hand Grenade, two Hand Grenades No. 90 MK-3, one 38 mm Anti-Riot Rubber Bullet, two Tear Smoke Shell Soft Nose, one 2 Inch Mortar Shell with case, two 40 mm Lathode Bomb, two 7.62 mm ammunitions, five 5.56 mm Blank Cartridge, one SLR magazine and one Improvised Exploded Shell were recovered from Thoubal district, it said.
