Kuki terrorists kill 2 state police personnel at Indo-Myanmar border town Moreh

Imphal: Kuki terrorists have killed two Manipur Police personnel and injured three others in attacks with sophisticated weapons at Moreh town, Indo-Myanmar border in Tengnoupal district of Manipur on Wednesday.

The two Martyred state security personnel were W. Somorjit (6 MR) of Malom Tuliyaima and Takhellambam Sailsehwore (Havildar) of Lamshang Akham.

The injured personnel were Sidhrath Thokchom (ASI), Bhim Singh (Constable) and Thokchom Naobicha (Rifleman, 5MR).

The state police geared up enforcement to Moreh using helicopters. They later received support from central forces.

Reacting on the Kuki attack women folks of Ima markets of Imphal and Thoubal took up protest shutting down the markets.

Following the attacks, Khwairamband Ima Keithel vendors thronged at the governor’s bungalow here.

Women folks of Kwakeithel Akham Leikai Meira Paibi demonstrated protest by blocking eastern side of Tiddim road at Kwakeithel Junction, Imphal West demanding to give proper weapons and order to retaliate against the attack of Kuki militants at Moreh.

The state government should issue proper weapons and order to retaliate against any kind of attack towards the state force, they demanded.

In the evening, women marched torch rally condemning the Kuki attack and impotency of the state government in the issue.

Since last May 3 mayhem, Kuki militants have been attacking Meitei villages and state security forces to establish a Kukiland.
