Imphal: Meira Paibi (Women activists) seized and destroyed huge quantity of Indian made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) loaded in two trucks in Imphal East district while trying to transport by identifying themselves as volunteers of Arambai Tengol, on Friday.
Secretary of Takhel Mamang Leikai Sapal Lampak, Iton Yaikhom said, at Takhel Sabal play ground, Imphal East, that Meira Paibi who were monitoring and checking the passers-by tried to stop two trucks for checking on Thursday night.
One two wheeler, one car that accompanied the trucks, identified themselves as volunteers of Arambai Tengol, gave some amount of Rs 130 as assistance and escaped.
The locals found out that the trucks belonged to one Bobby.
As the vehicles were under suspicion, Meira Paibi of Moirang Kampu stormed at the brick farm of Bobby located at Takhel village and found the two trucks loaded with huge quantities of IMFL.
The locals of the area seized the liquors and destroyed at Takhel Sabal playground on Friday by using excavator.
