Imphal: A 3-day sales event of products produced by internally displaced persons (IDPs) was inaugurated on Wednesday at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen, Imphal East.
The crisis in Manipur that erupted on May 3 has displaced many from their homes. They have been staying at relief camps.
The event was organised by Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission (MSRLM) under the department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj. It was organized to conceive upon the idea of building up a platform and provide an opportunity for the IDPs across the state, to showcase and sell their products.
The sales event consisted of 50 stalls and participated by IDPS from 83 different relief camps across the state.
There will be an interaction programme for IDPs with bankers, entrepreneurs and other government departments on Thursday and Friday.
MSRLM appeals all the people across the state to visit the sales meet to support the IDPs.
