Youth of Manipur receives bomb threat

Imphal: Unknown miscreants planted a bomb,  suspected to be a hand grenade, in front of the main gate of a member Huidrom Tomthin, 39, of ‘Youth of Manipur’ located at Singjamei Sapam Leikai, Imphal West under the jurisdiction of Singjamei Police station on Wednesday.

Family members of Tomthin found a plastic cover placed in front of the corner of the main gate in a suspicious manner at around 6.40 pm.

The matter was informed to Singjamei police station. Immediately a team of police rushed to the spot and recovered the suspected grenade safely.

A case has been registered at Singjamei Police station for further investigation. It is yet to be known the reason of planting the bomb at the residence of Tomthin, who is one of leading volunteers of ‘Youth of Manipur’.

Youth of Manipur is a youth group which emerged out of violence in Manipur.

It has been continuing its course of movement to bring peace in Manipur.

Recently a team of youths went to Delhi to meet MLAs who were camping at Delhi to meet the central leaders to place the present issue of Manipur and to solve it.

After returning from Delhi the youths expressed disappointment and charged that MLAs who were camping at Delhi were not able to meet the central leaders.

In continuation of the movement, the youth group has been organising public meetings at various Assembly constituencies. The continued to meet the MLAs and MPs of Manipur.

On Wednesday some volunteers of Youth of Manipur met Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba at his residence to discuss over the burning issue.
