Imphal: Manipur Police along with other security forces arrested three persons and recovered two arms (one INSAS Rifle and one Pistol), 10 Ammunitions and rwo Walkie-Talkie sets from Churachandpur district on Saturday.
Manipur Police also recovered two arms (one Carbine and one Pistol) and 77 Ammunitions from Khurai Sajor Tinsid Road, Imphal East district.
Manipur Police Control Room said during the last 24 hours, the situation in the state was tense but under control with sporadic incidents of congregation of protestors.
Search operations were conducted by security forces in the fringe and vulnerable areas of Imphal-West, Thoubal, Kakching, Bishnupur and Churachandpur districts.
A total of 132 checkpoints were installed in different districts of Manipur, and police detained 1534 persons in connection with violations in different districts of the state, the police control room said.
It appeals to general public not to believe in rumours and be aware of false videos. Any circulation of unfounded videos etc may be confirmed from the rumour free number – 9233522822 of Central Control room, it said.
It also appeals to public to return the looted arms, ammunition and explosives to the police or nearest security forces immediately.
