Imphal: A team of Imphal West Police commando on Monday apprehended one active member of KCP (City Meitei) organisation from Tera Sapam Leirak Machin.
The insurgent was identified as Laithangbam Robert singh alias Abu, 29, son of late L. Ronal Singh of Uripok Sorbon Thingel.
He disclosed the police he is an active member of KCP ( City Meitei) organization and started working for the said organization since May 2023.
He disclosed that he had extorted Rs 50,000 from general public under the instruction of his commander, a police report said.
The police recovered one mobile handset, one wallet containing one aadhaar card and Rs 540, Rs 50,000, and one TVS Jupiter scooter.
The person was arrested. He and the seized articles were handed over to Lamphel Police station for further necessary action, the police report said.
