Imphal-East: Manipur Police and security forces recovered arms and explosives from Imphal-East district during a cordon and search operation on Monday.
The search operation were conducted in three different locations, Sanjenbam khullen, Gouranagar and Terakhong village under Lamlai Police station, Imphal East.
A combined teams of district police Imphal East, Special commando Khabeisoi, 8IRB, 7 MR, one coy E 86 CRPF, columns of 1/3 GR and 4 AR conducted the operation from 3.30 am to 6.00 am.
The search operation was supervised by IGP Zone-1, DIG Range-1 and commander, Indian Army, Imphal East.
In the search operation, the combined teams were divided and conducted simultaneous, multiple combing operations in Sanjenbam khullen-Gouranagar-Terakhong villages and recovered the arms and ammunitions.
The recovered items were one 3o3 Rifle with empty magazine, one SMG carbine with empty magazine, one AK MA-3 MK II with one empty magazine, one 9mm pistol with empty magazine, 20 numbers of 36 HE grenades without detonators, one empty AK 47 magazine, two empty INSAS magazines, one empty INSAS LMG magazine and one empty M16 magazine.
The recovered items have been handed over to Lamlai Police station for further legal formalities, a police report said.
