Eyes and Ears of central government tightly shut as Manipur and Sikkim cry for Help: MP Chidambaram

Imphal: When will the central government realize that it is a government for all the states? Rajya Sabha MP and former Finance minister of India asks stating that Centre is silent while Manipur and Sikkim people cry for Help.

Manipur has been on boil since May 3, the day Kuki launched terror in the state resulting to Meitei-Kuki crisis which itself in reality is Narco-terrorism as claimed by chief minister N. Biren Singh and various sections of the society.

“If Manipur is burning, Sikkim has been devastated by cloudburst and flooding.

Both are small north eastern states that are crying for help. The eyes and ears of the central government are tightly shut,” Chidambaram tweets.

“Neither the Hon’ble PM or the Hon’ble HM has found the time to visit Sikkim and offer the people solace and succour. The sum offered to Sikkim, Rs 44 crore, has added humiliation to neglect,” he said.

“When will the central government realize that it is a government for all the states?”

The Law and Order of Manipur has been controlled over by the Centre since May 4. Large numbers of Army, paramilitary forces and other forces were sent into the state. However, people complained on ‘inaction’ of the armed forces even as the kuki militants continued to attack Meitei community.
