Biren greets people on Durga Puja

Imphal: Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh on Friday extended his ‘heartiest’ greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Durga Puja.

Durga Puja is celebrated with different themes in various parts of India as it signifies the triumph of righteousness over evil. The festival has religious as well as cultural significance and also reminds us of the power of ethical and moral behaviour and the value system which are the bedrock of ‘our society’, the chief minister said.

“May this festival give us the strength to stand together and rise, against all disruptive forces, which are trying to disintegrate the age-old relationship among different communities and to disrupt the state’s fabric of peace and harmony. I hope the festival will inspire us to follow the path of righteousness and also reinforces the bond of brotherhood and amity among different communities residing in the state.”

“May Goddess Durga shower her blessings and usher in greater peace and prosperity.”
