People continue to voice for justice to students

Imphal: Pressing the government for justice to deceased students continued as Khagempalli Meira Paibi urged the state and central government to find the body of the two decease students and to book the culprits involved in killing the innocent students.

Decrying the killing of two students, Hijam Linthoingambi and Phijam Hemanjit and condemning the brutality of armed forces against Meitei students who demanded for justice, Meira Paibi of Khagempalli Huidrom Leikai, Khagempalli Panthak, Khagempalli Pankha staged a sit-in at Khagempalli Huidrom Leikai, here on Saturday.

Secretary of Khagempalli Huidrom Leikai Yumjao Lairembi Meira Paibi, Konjengbam Nonibala Devi said the women folk strongly condemn the killing of the two innocent students by suspected Kuki militants. She demanded for justice to the two students and the culprits involved during the crime must be arrested immediately.

She said the extreme action of security forces including firing of lead pellet and brutally assault towards student protestors must be stopped immediately. The government and authority concerned should also take immediate steps to stop such extreme action of security forces towards students, said Nonibala.

The Meira Paibi secretary appealed both the government and authority concerned to solve the present crisis.

The two students have been missing since July 6, however no clues have been reportedly found by stet police so far through a CCTV footage had shown them riding towards Nambol in Bishnupur district on the morning of July 6.

The respective family members also registered two different cases at police station. It was reported that the last mobile location of Hemanjit was found to be at Lamdan, Churachandpur district which is a Kuki dominated area.

Protestor demonstrated with placards read as “Retaliate the influx of immigrants”, “CM: See Action – When will the action begin?”, “Jstice delayed is justice denied” and others.
